All/all of, some/ some of, most/most of 차이

1. all, most, some, any, many/much, little/few 

먼저, 위의 한정사는 모두 불특정한 걸 (둘 이상을) 가리키는 말입니다.

조금 있다가 나올 both, either, neither은 두 가지를 가리키는 말이고요

뒤에 단수형 명사인지, 복수형 명사인지는 가산명사냐, 불가산명사냐에 따라 다르며 또, 단어의 의미에 따라 달라집니다. 

예를 들어, money의 경우 셀 수 없는 명사라서, 아무리 많은 돈이라 해도 all money 이지, all moneys가 되지는 않음 

2. all, most, some, any, many/much, little/few + 명사

 - 위의 한정사 뒤에, 명사가 올 때는 다음과 같이 사용합니다.

all cars    

most cars 

some cars

any cars   

much money / many cars 

* much, many, little, few의 차이는 본문 하단에 정리

little milk / few books

단, a little of  / a few of는 '약간의' 라는 뜻으로 가능한 표현 

■  all of를 쓰려면, 뒤에 아래의 한정사를 써줘야 함

some of, most of, none of, all of, 등 + the/this/that/these/those/my

some of the cars   (some of cars)

some of this water  (some of water)

most of these cars (most of cars)

all of my cars        (all of cars)

[참고사항] 

  all과 half 뒤에는 of 를 생략해도 됩니다.

 예) all my friends, all of my friends 

  half this money, half of this money

■ all of cars 형태는 안 된다고 했지만, 아래의 형태는 가능

 *it/us/you/them 앞에는 항상 of가 나와야 함 (all과 half도 예외가 아님) 
 all of us       ( all us)

 half of them (half them)

all, most, some, any, many/much, little/few는 모두 뒤에 명사 없이 홀로 쓰일 수도 있답니다.

Some cars have four doors, and some have two.

Half (of) this money is mine, and half (of it) is yours. (not the half) 

■  both, neither, either : 둘을 가리키는 한정사들

위의 한정사들은 아래와 같이 뒤에 명사를 쓸 수 있음

both books, neither books 

앞에 설명처럼 of 뒤에 한정사를 

Both of / neither of /either of + the/these/my/Tom's

both of the restaurants
both of these restaurants
both of my restaurants
both of Tom's restaurants

 
 both 뒤에 of를 쓰지 않아도 됨
 
 both my parents    (O)

 both of my parents (O) 

▷ 단, us, you, them 앞에는 of를 꼭 붙여야 합니다.

both of/neither of / either of + us/you/them

both of us    (both us )

both of them

neither of 뒤에는 단수형 동사, 복수형 동사 둘 다 가능하며, both, neither, either도 홀로 쓰일 수 있습니다.

I like both. (or I like both of them)

Either. I don't care.

■  some cars와 some of the cars 차이

some cars는 '몇몇 차', some of the cars는 '그 차들 중의 몇몇'으로 뒤의 것은 한정되는 의미입니다.

most cars 역시 '대부분의 차, most of their cars '그들 차 중, 대부분'으로 뒤가 '그들 차'라는 한정의 의미를 지님
